 Design inspiration 

The Kootenay region in Alberta is a hidden gem tucked away in the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies. This breathtakingly beautiful area encompasses a diverse tapestry of landscapes, where towering peaks, crystal-clear lakes, and lush forests create a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers.

Sprawling across an incredible mountainous landscape larger than Switzerland, the Kootenays are located in the southeast corner of British Columbia and include four major mountain ranges: the western Rockies, Purcells, Selkirks and eastern Monashees. The design of the leash is a collage of places and culture of this magical and majestic landscape including Mount Assiniboine, Bugaboo Spire, Emerald Lake and Takakkaw Falls.

And now, we have it in the Kootenay design featuring a blue winter version with a snowboarder shredding the powder in the Kokanee backcountry and a summer version featuring a mountain biker and their dog.

Yes, all that in a dog leash design, you will not find another leash like it anywhere in the world.

Jean McAllister designed this graphic for our Great Outdoor Isolation hoodie. A talented graphic designer, she knows what's it like to isolate in the Mountains living in Canmore, Alberta. She is also the designer of the Rocky Mountain collection of RMD dog gear that will debut in May 2020.
