My dog did really well in the back pack. We tried it a couple times before I went camping and I bought it specifically to hike. She went in the pack about 3/4 way up Table Mountain and was snoring after a short ways. She came out again near the peak and then again about 1/2 way down where she walked again the rest of the way. It’s perfect if your dog needs breaks and she seems comfortable in it. My other dog does great hiking but when we got back from camping was recovering from the long hikes and asked to go in the pack during one of our long hikes through our local coulees. They are both are 20 lb.
Very happy with this pack. The hip belt is well padded and comfortable to wear. My dog is 40lbs and I’ve carried him around for a few hours with no issues.
We love this backpack! We originally bought the Air2 but we realized very quickly the waist straps would be needed for our comfort. After reaching out to Rocky Mountain Dog, they quickly exchanged the bag for us and we love it!!! Our weenie dog has little legs so she can only go for shorter distances so being able to take her on longer, harder hikes has been awesome! Highly recommend this product and this company!!
I have been searching for a backpack dog carrier for sometime and was thrilled when I came across this one. I have a senior, 14 lbs Yorkipoo who has a love for mountain adventures. He measured at the upper end of the scale for size small. I purchased a small and I was worried that it might be a bit long but it fits great and the storage below is nice. As he has gotten older, he has slowed down but still loves to get outside and come along with us on long hikes. This pack has allowed us to continue to bring him on big mountain adventures while being able to give him a rest in the pack when he needs it. I was debating between the Knavigate and the Air 2 (because he's not a big dog) and ultimately went with the Knavigate as the hip belt was key for me - and I'm really glad I did. I can't wait to try Nordic skiing with him this winter!
I love this pack. Great for traveling with my puppy on public transit or on the bike to get her to adventure spots. Very comfy for her and she’s more than happy to be the big spoon for a bit and chill. The waist band makes it really comfy for me too (my dog is 30lbs), and I love all the handy pockets and his and hers water bottle holders. Brilliant!
This backpack performs as advertised, and Rocky Mountain Dog was really responsive to make the order ready for pick up the same day as ordering. Definitely worth the upgrade from the Air2 model, as both dog and human were much more comfortable (hip belt, better straps, internal spine). It was also relatively easy compared to the Air2 to get the pup into the bag on non-ideal terrain (ie. not a flat part of the trail). The additional bottom storage compartment makes it easy to bring other equipment (boots, first aid kit, long line, etc) and snacks. Only wish the hip pouch was a little bigger to fit more treats!

I am 5'8" and the hip belt fell comfortably on the hips. The bag also fit well on my partner, who is 6'1".
34 lb Whoodle 20" Medium just fits. Was tough at first to get her to sit, all legs in.( seemed too small) Now we load on stairs , front feet first. ( cheese on step) . She tries to climb in because we always do fun stuff. ( bike ride to McD for lick of Ice cream). Slowly increasing distance till we can ride to lake for swim. Good shoulder / belt system ,
This pack is so cool. I'm pumped to get the bike out and take my pup everywhere rhis spring/summer

Great customer service, bag works as advertised. Took my 50lb kelpie x border collie on my motorcycle with me and she loved it! They gave me 2 dog balls and a toque for free and a hand written thank you on the invoice. Great company to buy from and it being local made it alot easier to want to spend money there rather than amazon. Will likely be purchasing more from these guys!

Very comfortable to carry. Love the pocket below to carry a light jacket and some snacks. Hip belt help distribute the weight. The only reason for 4 stars is the water pockets not deep enough. I used a collapsible water bag with a carabiner to hook around the strap so I wouldn’t lose it.
The Knavigate K9 Sport Sack is super comfy for me and my dog. He loved it off the bat for our biking adventures. It's breathable, stylish, lightweight, and durable. Highly recommend!
Quality is great. A little difficult expanding the backpack initially but it works well. Take some getting used to finding the best way to get your dog into the backpack but once you do all is well - assuming your isn't stubborn and moody :)

The backpack's great, love the design, but I wish they'd clarified how small the pocket is on the XL size - it's practically useless, you can fit a sweater and a water bottle in it. Whereas the smaller sized packs have pockets you can actually carry stuff in, and those are the pictures they use for the XL. You will need another backpack, or paniers on your bike, to carry your stuff.

Very unhappy with the entire process and will never purchase anything through this company again.

Love this pack! Very comfortable to wear. I like the extra storage and the hip belt. I have a dachshund and long hikes are too much for him so being able to pack him when he gets tired will be fantastic. Very happy with this product.
We have a german shepherd puppy and are using this backpack while she is growing and can't adventure for too long — so far, we are loving it and it has meant we can get out and about while she's tiny. Stuffing it with some blankets means it works just fine while she's 3 months old, and it looks like it should fit her for at least 6-8 months. A little disappointing that even an X-large looks like it won't last till she's full grown, but there are even larger other backpacks so understandable.
Our one complaint is that after spending almost $300 on this backpack, having the carabiner break within twenty minutes was disappointing. It's the only security piece that attaches the dog to the backpack, and with this quality of a product we'd expect the effort for some extra thought put into making sure the smaller pieces of equipment are also of a high quality.
Otherwise, love the backpack and using it most weekends.

Company was timely with the order and easy pickup at their location. Really great communication. The product is as advertised. My frenchie now likes it more than a ride in the car because he's right up against me the whole time. The bag is pretty tough and the waist band makes riding my bike with him really comfortable. This has been the biggest asset to our bonding, I think.
