Lookbook - Emerald Lake

Emerald Lake is located in British Columbia by Field off of Highway #1. It's about 2.5 hours away from Calgary. If you stay there plan to be taken away to a magical place with awe-inspiring views, excellent cuisine, great customer service and real fireplaces in your rooms!

Purchased by Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts in 1979, Emerald Lake Lodge and the surrounding area have a long history and significance in Yoho National Park.

It all started when CP Railway built a lodge at the lake in 1902. The square-framed, Swiss-inspired lodge, though expanded, modified, and renovated over the years, remains intact today. And as was true with its very first guests, Emerald Lake Lodges continues to be a rustic, yet elegant mountain getaway for visitors across the world.

And... they have dog-friendly rooms at the resort.

What can you do while you are up there? In the winter, the resort is a winter wonderland with cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and backcountry skiing available.

We spent the day hiking around the frozen lake, a beautiful day spent walking the trails, going down to the lake with trees covered in snow and views that you only see in movies.

The accommodations at the resort are like cabins with the main lodge being the focal point where you can relax and dine, they even allow you to leave your dog behind the front desk.

And yes, they have a hot tub at the resort but be careful walking around, the paths are very slippery in the winter.

If you go up with your dog, be sure to get the Kootenay All-Terrain Harness for your adventures with your furbaby.
